Director / Life on Death Beach

In a town where family means everything, a group of volunteer lifeguards save people's lives to support theirs and a blind man fights for independence from his.

In 2006 I was almost killed in a riptide and saved by the volunteer lifeguards of Zipolite, Oaxaca Mexico.

The town is also home to Piña Palmera, a rehabilitation clinic for people with disabilities.

The two institutions turned out to have more in common than met the eye.
