Harlem Arts Festival: Recap of 2013

The 2nd annual Harlem Arts Festival featured 28 artistic acts on 2 stages over the course of 2 days to more than 4,000 people.

Harlem Arts Festival Artist Profile: Lädy Millard

Lädy Millard is a street artist living and working in Manhattan with a unique story and style. Her paintings and mixed media art have a very youthful and anti-establishment vibe without feeling trite.

I enjoyed getting to know Lädy and spending time with her at Con Artist in SoHo.

This video was shot on the Panasonic GH2 with lumix 14mm and canon 50mm lenses (with a novaflex micro 4/3 adaptor).

I also used a sennheiser wireless mic and a kessler 43" Slider.

Motion graphics created in Motion.

Harlem Arts Festival Artist Profile: Eric Lockley

Eric Lockley is a talented young actor, writer, singer and producer performing all over New York.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing his provocative show "Last Laugh", exploring identity, race politics, and the separation between reality and performace. Borrowing from the real lives of two historical black performers, Eric managed to enthral an audience for over an hour with little more than his own presence on stage. I highly recommend seeing Eric if he is performing in your area.

Harlem Arts Festival Artist Profile: Brandee Younger

Brandee Younger is not your grandmother's harpist. Founder of the Brandee Younger Jazz Quartet, her sound is refreshing and offers something that both harp enthusiasts and jazz fans will appreciate.
